Gold Medal launches out-of-date-range holidays to Florida and New York
Ilaria Grasso MacolaAgents can now book trips to Florida and New York with Gold Medal up to 26 months in advance after the trade-only operator launched out-of-usual-date-range packages online.
Agents can now package trips to the Sunshine State through March 2027 featuring more than 100 hotels, including Disney and Universal, as well as guaranteed pricing on flights departing from Manchester, London and Edinburgh, among others.
As part of Gold Medal’s Florida packages, agents will also be able to book car hire services and park tickets.
Meanwhile, trips to New York – with guaranteed pricing and 70 hotels to choose from – are now available to book until March 2026.
Gold Medal said it was working on expanding the scheme with additional destinations and products.
“We knew the demand for out-of-date-range package holidays online has been strong for a long time, following feedback from our agents,” said trade partnerships director Karen Fletcher.
“Agents can phone our contact centre for ODR quotes, but having it available on the web now is a unique feature we hope agents will utilise for those clients planning further ahead."
Commenting on the launch, newly appointed Barrhead Travel managing director Nicki Tempest-Mitchell said: “It’s great to see key partners, such as Gold Medal, advance their out-of-date-range product.
"The fact we were the first to use the service without it even being launched illustrates the demand for this type of product.
Earlier this month, before Gold Medal launched the scheme, one Barrhead Travel agent had already booked a Universal package holiday to travel in 2026.
“I know our teams will be excited to learn more about the packages on offer and to share them with their customers,” Tempest-Mitchell added.
It comes as Gold Medal boss Simon Applebaum said in December 18 the B2B operator and its UK sister brands were "set up better than ever" to support agents during peaks and help them maximise sales opportunities.
