Heavy rain and floods trigger FCDO advice update for Austria

Will PayneThe UK Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Austria after heavy rain and flooding hit the western and southern areas of the country.
According to the FCDO, the conditions have led to mudslides and road closures in the Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg and Oberkarnten regions.
"There is an increased risk of flooding in affected regions," a spokesperson added.
Brits in – and travelling to – Austria have been advised to check local conditions before they travel, including roads and hiking trails, and follow the instructions of local officials.
