Hundreds of baggage carousel workers at Heathrow airport will walk out next month in a dispute over pay.
Some 170 workers employed by Vanderlande Industries at Heathrow will take part in two "waves" of strike action in October.
The first will start at 5.30pm on 6 October and run through to 6am on 9 October. The second will get under way at 5.30am on 20 October and run through to 6am on 30 October.
The Unite union said its Vanderlande members at Heathrow oversaw maintenance and servicing of the airport’s baggage carousels.
It described the firm’s two below inflation pay offers, which have been rejected by affected workers, as "derisory".
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Workers at Heathrow airport employed by Vanderlande do a safety and security critical role that passengers depend on.
"The fact their employer refuses to recognise this, as shown by their pitiful pay offer, speaks volumes."
Unite regional officer Russ Ball added Unite’s members at Heathrow would receive the union’s "unflinching support" during their strike action.
TTG has contacted Vanderlande for comment.
