Hurtigruten Expeditions has added three new Pole-to-Pole expedition cruises to its 2023 portfolio.
The new sailings combine destinations such as Alaska, Iceland, Greenland, the Northwest Passage, South America and Antarctica – with crossings such as the Arctic Circle, the Panama Canal and the Drake Passage.
Hurtigruten Expeditions chief Asta Lassesen said the new voyages are "undoubtedly the most unique and exclusive" expedition cruises the line has "ever offered".
"These extraordinary voyages will showcase some of the most spectacular nature and wildlife on our planet and offer authentic encounters with unique cultures," Lassesen added.
Two of the new itineraries are offered by MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen and the third by MS Fram. All the three voyages are set to depart August 2023.
A 94-day voyage onboard Roald Amundsen from Vancouver sails to Alaska, the Northwest Passage and Antarctica with calls in 11 countries on 3 August 2023.
The expedition heads north along the Alaskan coast and crosses the Arctic Circle before making its way through the Northwest Passage – to Baffin Island and Greenland. Guests will disembark in Ushuaia, Argentina.
A 93-day sailing onboard Fridtjof Nansen, set to depart 13 August 2023, sails from Reykjavik, Iceland to Ushuaia, Argentina. After crossing the Denmark Strait to Greenland, the vessel will traverse the full Northwest Passage.
The 66-day Fram itinerary will depart Montreal, Canada to Punta Arenas, Chile late August 2023. The expedition combines several itineraries into one journey with focus on science, learning and sustainability.
After navigating eastwards through the Northwest Passage to coastal Greenland, Newfoundland and Labrador, Fram will turn south through the Atlantic – to then pass through the Panama Canal to the Pacific.
In addition to the three Pole-to-Pole cruises, Hurtigruten Expeditions’ new series of "Grand Expedition" voyages offers a selection of month-long sailings, combining several of the company’s itineraries.
