Hurtigruten Expeditions has expanded its 2023 Arctic Summer programme with the addition of seven new adventures on board its small-size expedition vessel Maud.
The new departures span 11 to 19 days in duration, setting sail from June to September 2023 and departing from either Dover or Reykjavik. They will sail to Greenland, Svalbard, the British Isles, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland. The line will also have four other ships sailing in the Arctic.
The itineraries include two 17-day True Arctic Expeditions, which combine Iceland, the east coast of Greenland, the Svalbard archipelago and the Arctic volcanic island of Jan Mayen.
The 20-day Greenland summer explorer expedition cruise explores Greenland’s west coast – including north of Disko Bay, while two 11-day Iceland Circumnavigation sailings include crossing the Arctic circle.
Two 12-day Island Hopping in the North Atlantic cruises explore Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands, and British Isles.
The expedition cruises can also be extended with two to four days of land adventures in Iceland.
Hurtigruten Expeditions chief executive Asta Lassesen said: “From engaging encounters with the local communities to the vast wilderness and rich wildlife, our small-ship expedition cruises unlock one-of-a-kind experiences in some of the most unique areas of our planet. While exploring, our guests and crew not only create local value, but contribute to science projects that are vital to understanding and preserving the areas for future generations of explorers.”
