Icelandair will upgrade three North American routes to year-round services next winter.
The current summer services from Reykjavik to Vancouver, Raleigh-Durham and Baltimore will become year-round with the start of the winter 2023/24 timetable. Baltimore will operate daily, with Vancouver and Raleigh-Durham being four times a week.
Icelandair will also offer daytime flights to New York and Boston for the first time. The carrier will increase weekly flights from Reykjavik to Boston to 11, while Reykjavik-New York will operate 21 times a week. More frequencies have also been added to Chicago and Minneapolis.
The additions mean the carrier will operate “up to” 17% more flights than in 2019.
Tomas Ingason, Icelandair chief revenue officer, said: “Due to strong customer demand, we are now introducing our most extensive winter schedule to date.
“We have been able to extend previously seasonal routes to year-round services and increase frequencies on other routes throughout the network for the winter 23/24 season.
“As a result, I’m delighted that we have been able to increase Icelandair’s capacity by 20-25% compared to winter 2022/2023.”
