Inghams has put its 2022/23 Lapland programme on sale early following a "surge" in 2021/22 bookings after its 2020/21 season was wiped out by Covid.
The decision to start taking 2022/23 bookings came after 2021/22 sold "so rapidly", Inghams in December had to put on extra capacity to keep up with demand.
Bookings "have continued to surge post-Christmas" said the operator.
“Over half of Inghams winter 2021 programme has already sold, and more specifically, 84% of our 2021 Inghams Lapland programme is full—so we are now taking Lapland bookings for winter 2022/23," said Joe Ponte, chief executive of Inghams parent Hotelplan UK.
"With numerous ’once-in-a-lifetime’ experiences on offer, it’s understandable people want to make up for lost time. For many people, a trip to Lapland is the perfect antidote following the events of the past year."
Trips offer changes to stay in a glass igloo, see the Northern Lights, ride in a reindeer or husky-drawn sleigh, ski and snowboard deep inside the Arctic Circle, go snowmobiling – and of course meet Father Christmas.
Inghams is offering seven-night 2022/23 Lapland holiday departures from 27 November 2022 to 12 February 2023, while Santa breaks are available from 27 November to 14 December 2022. Both are available on a £155pp deposit.
Clients can choose from three resorts, Levi, Yllas or Saariselka, although Santa breaks are only offered in Levi or Yllas.
Seven nights’ B&B at Tunturi Hotel Suites, Saariselka, departing 8 January 2023 leads in from £739pp from Manchester or £749pp from Gatwick, based on two adults sharing a room.
Three nights’ self-catering at Yllas Log Cabins departing 27 November 2022 from Gatwick or Manchester leads in from £2,649pp based on two adults and a child under the age of seven sharing a room.
