Jet2 has told agents with clients affected by a runway closure at Leeds Bradford airport on Friday (5 July) they have until close of business on Monday (8 July) to rebook them.
Operations at Leeds Bradford airport returned to normal over the weekend after the runway was shut for several hours for emergency repairs, meaning aircraft could not take off or land at the airport.
It was reopened at 7.30pm on Friday, albeit with a warning to expect "some disruption and delays". The airport has apologised to passengers whose travel plans were affected.
A spokesperson for the airport told the BBC the repairs didn’t stem from a specific incident, and were minor in nature, but nonetheless required immediate action.
In a statement to the trade, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said that despite the best efforts of its team to minimise disruption, it had been required to cancel "a small number" of flights at Leeds Bradford.
All package bookings made with agents affected by the cancellations at LBA will be refunded automatically by close of business on Monday (8 July), said Jet2.
Any agents with customers keen to rebook must do so by 5pm on Monday and should process them as new bookings, the airline and operator has confirmed.
Jet2 said it wished to apologise to agents for any inconvenience caused.
