Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has suspended its Balearic programme for the remainder of the summer 2020 season.
The airline and operator confirmed on Thursday (27 August) it was suspending all remaining flights and holidays to Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca.
However, in a message to agents, customers and partners, Jet2 said that it remained "completely committed" to the Balearic Islands.
"Because of the ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the current UK government advice, we have taken the difficult decision to suspend flights and holidays to the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca for the rest of summer 2020," said Jet2.
"We are obviously very disappointed to be making this announcement, as we know how much our customers look forward to their well-deserved holidays in these fantastic destinations."
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has, instead, announced a major summer 2020 capacity boost for Greece, Turkey and Portugal, with the addition of another 500 flights from its nine UK bases offering nearly 100,000 extra summer seats.
