Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced plans to significantly expand its operations from Edinburgh airport.
The growth from the airline and operator includes four new routes, extra summer and winter capacity, as well as an additional aircraft coming into operation next summer.
The airport will benefit from new Monday and Friday services to Rome from 8 March as well as additional Wednesday flights to Malta from 1 May.
As well as summer demand, Jet2 has also seen strong demand for ski flights and has added new services to Chambery from Edinburgh for winter 2023/2024 and winter 2024/2025.
This coming winter, weekly Saturday services will operate to Chambery between 10 February and 6 April and next year Saturday services will operate from 21 December.
Meanwhile, scheduled winter services and city breaks have also gone on sale to Prague from Edinburgh for winter 2024/2025, operating from 3 October 2024 to 27 March 2025 across two-weekly services on Thursdays and Sundays.
This expansion means Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will now operate up to 96 weekly flights during peak periods to 32 destinations from Edinburgh next summer.
With winter sun also proving popular from the airport, the expansion sees Jet2.com and Jet2holidays add capacity to Lanzarote, Alicante, Antalya, Fuerteventura and Tenerife for winter 2023/2024 and to Alicante, Madeira, Fuerteventura and Tenerife and for winter 2024/2025.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: "Today’s announcement represents a significant investment at Edinburgh and means we are massively expanding our summer and winter programmes.
The demand we are seeing from customers and independent travel agents remains strong, so we have responded by expanding our operations at Edinburgh with new routes, extra capacity and an additional 7th based aircraft."
