Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate to Bulgaria for the first time next summer after adding a trio of eastern Mediterranean locations.
The Black Sea city of Bourgas, Izmir in Turkey and Chania in Crete join an increased summer 2019 programme from the low-cost carrier and package holiday operator – with capacity boosted by 12% and more than 12 million seats going on sale.
Around 100,000 seats will be offered to Bourgas from next May, while more than 55,000 seats are available through Jet2.com to Chania, the carrier’s eighth destination in Greece.
In Turkey, up to 80,000 seats across eight weekly flights will serve Izmir offering sunseekers access to resorts such Kusadasi, Cesme, Ozdere and Seferihisar.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said it expected the new route to be “extremely popular”.
The summer 2019 offering also sees an additional 10 new routes launching including Manchester to La Rochelle and Leeds Bradford to Krakow.
As part of the network expansion, customers can also choose from four new services from Birmingham to Bergerac, Kefalonia, Pula and Verona as well as two new routes to Kos and Naples from Glasgow.
For summer 2019, a second widebody Airbus A330 will come into operation by Jet2.com at Manchester airport, bringing its fleet to 94 aircraft including 34 new Boeing 737-800 NGs.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “The addition of flights to Bourgas means we will operate to Bulgaria for the first time, and with resorts such as Sunny Beach on sale, we are expecting it be hugely popular with Britons.
“Greece continues to attract holidaymakers in huge numbers, and this new route Chania in Crete means that we will operate to eight Greek destinations in 2019.
“Finally, Turkey continues to see huge demand, so we are opening up more resorts on the west coast of this fantastic country, by adding flights and holidays to Izmir.”
