The government has promised a review of passenger locator forms “by Easter”.
Boris Johnson made no mention of PLFs when confirming the lifting of domestic Covid restrictions to parliament, but he responded to a question from Labour MP Ben Bradshaw, who asked:
“Given everything the prime minister has said this afternoon, why is he keeping the bureaucratic and irritating passenger locator form when the whole of the rest of Europe can already travel freely by showing a vaccine certificate?”
Johnson replied: “We already have one of the most open travel systems in the world and the passenger locator form, I understand his grievance against it, we are certainly reviewing it by Easter.”
Earlier, transport secretary Grant Shapps said he hoped the PLF would be "significantly simplified" in time for the Easter holidays.
