Kuoni will host its first overseas sales managers’ conference since 2019 in Sri Lanka in a bid to drive sales to the destination.
Despite Sri Lanka being one of Kuoni’s best-performing destinations, sales slowed last year due to the country’s economic crisis.
However, the brand has seen a strong rebound for 2023 and 2024 as confidence returns, and the company is now investing in building destination knowledge as it targets growth.
A group of 39 sales managers, including Kuoni’s own store managers, virtual call centre team leaders, partner store managers and senior managers from Kuoni’s product, training and commercial teams, will attend the conference.
During the event, delegates will be split into four itineraries so they explore different parts of the destination.
Helen Roberts, Kuoni sales director, said: "We have teams climbing Sigiriya Rock, exploring Polonnaruwa by bicycle, taking the scenic train from Ella to Nuwara Eliya and on the hunt to spot leopards in Yala National Park on safari."
The four groups will then come together for the second part of the event being hosted at Cinnamon Bentota Beach for an interactive full day of conference.
