Kuoni has reported an increase in sales for multi-centre long-haul trips as consumer confidence grows post-pandemic.
The brand has seen an increase in sales over the past two months to destinations such as India, Kenya and Costa Rica, as customers "become more optimistic" about planning "more complex" multi-centre travel arrangements.
Thailand and Japan – two of the most recent countries to update their Covid-19 entry requirements – have also seen an increase in demand.
Website visits for Kuoni’s tailor-made division are up 36% in the last four weeks with the most visited pages being Japan, India and African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.
Costa Rica is the top-selling destination in the region followed by Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Brazil, Ecuador and Galapagos.
Bookings for late departures to Thailand have risen over the past four weeks by 87% compared to 2019 numbers. Kuoni also reported group touring sales for India are at 80% of 2019 levels.
Recently booked trips include a tailor-made holiday to Japan for the Cherry Blossom season and a trip to Mozambique, including Cape Town, Victoria Falls and Kruger, with couples spending between £15,000 - £20,000 for customised itineraries.
Francis Torrilla, Kuoni’s chief executive, said: "A thirst for exploration is definitely back in play for British travellers and there’s been a notable shift even in recent weeks.
"Many people have put their big holiday plans on hold for three years, so they are coming to us for advice and expertise."
