Latin Routes has added Mexico to its portfolio of destinations with an initial six itineraries including a gastronomic tour.
Mexico follows Panama into the Latin America range, with more new destinations to come from the specialist later this year.
The operator said Mexico was added “due to an increase in demand from travel agents whose clients are looking to visit the country away from its well-known beach resorts”.
Senior product manager Cat Davies said: “We’re launching six itineraries packed full of fantastic experiences, including our 17-day Mezcal to Mole itinerary, which is a gastronomic adventure from Oaxaca to Puerto Vallarta.”
The itinerary includes street food tours, wine, mezcal and tequila tasting at vineyards and distilleries, a cookery class, chocolate tour and visits to colonial sites and Mexico City’s Teotihuacan pyramids.
Davies added: “The other itineraries we’ll be launching will cover the classic highlights of the country plus more immersive and in-depth experiences.”
Latin Routes’ 17-day Mezcal to Mole itinerary is from £5,899pp and includes international flights and private car transfers, plus guided food tours and tastings.
