LGBT+ specialist operator Chillimix has launched its first drag-themed cruise itinerary in partnership with DFDS later this year.
The “DRAGged to Amsterdam” trip will depart Newcastle on Friday 7 October with Chillimix’s resident drag queen Sandy Beach hosting guests onboard.
After arriving in Amsterdam on Saturday 8 October, guests will explore the city and later return onboard for dinner and an evening of “drag-packed” entertainment and DJ sets until the early hours.
Chillimix, founded by TTG 30 Under 30 alumnus David McDonald, only sells holidays to LGBT+ friendly countries and destinations that allow customers “to be free to be themselves”.
McDonald said: “We’ve chosen Amsterdam as our first destination as it is a fun and vibrant city and everything Chillimix is about. We wanted to offer an exclusive weekend cruise for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies, filled with drag, fun and an experience like no other.
“Our Chillimix team have been busy developing exclusive products and this is our first cruise, so it is an exciting time," he said.
McDonald added how the brand was “already seeing fantastic interest and sales” for the itinerary, saying it would “inevitably be the first of many that Chillimix will be offering”.
Nicky Yates, trade partnerships manager for Chillimix, said: “DRAGged to Amsterdam is already proving to be a hit and we are here to 100% support the trade with marketing materials and sales enquiries. This is a unique product filled with fun and we are all here to support our agent partners.”
