Manchester airport has reopened both of its runways after it was forced to pause operations on Thursday morning (19 January) due to heavy snowfall.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the airport thanked passengers for their patience and confirmed operations have resumed.
"Following the temporary closure of our runways due to snow, we are pleased to report that operations have resumed," it said. "We thank passengers for their patience.
"Passengers should continue to contact their airline for the most up-to-date flight information."
According to data analytics firm Cirium, 154 flights are scheduled to depart the airport on Thursday (19 January) – equating to nearly 30,000 seats.
It’s the second time this winter the airport has temporarily ceased operations due to adverse weather conditions, after it shut both of its runways last month due to snowfall.
The airport also faced an IT system outage on Tuesday (17 September), which caused minor disruption to some services.
