Norwegian Cruise Line will offer 10,000 of Norwegian Prima’s cabins to trade partners during the ship’s inaugural European season.
The vessel, the first of six in NCL’s new Prima-class, was delivered at Fincantieri Shipyard in Venice on Friday (29 July).
Speaking during the ceremony, NCL president and chief executive Harry Sommer said the cabins would help agents to sell the new vessel to their clients.
"We are setting aside 10,000 cabins on Prima’s inaugural season in the first few months specifically for trade partners so they can come on in Europe and in the US, because we are committed to doing everything we can to see our trade partners succeed," he added.
"These are entrepreneurs throughout the world who each have unique business models and unique ways to generate interest from our customers, which allows us to win together."
Sommer said the travel trade is "absolutely vital" to selling Prima. "The trade communities for us continue to be our single largest distribution source," he added.
"We partner with agents all over the world, and we have our people in the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia, South America and Australia to provide real time, in-person support to our partners."
Prima will embark on its christening sailing on 22 August from Reykjavik to Amsterdam.
