The Netherlands has reintroduced face masks in indoor public spaces and expanded entry pass requirements in a bid to curb a recent spike in Covid-19 cases.
The change in policy will come into effect on Saturday (6 November) and face coverings will be mandatory on public transport and in locations such as museums and shops.
Masks must also be worn when visiting contact based professions, such as the hairdresser.
Those who do not wear a face covering as directed may be fined, according to the UK Foreign Office.
Travellers must also show evidence of full vaccination or of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test, taken within the last 24 hours, in order to access public venues such as restaurants, museums, theatres, cinemas and sporting events.
From Saturday, the entry pass requirement will be expanded to include gyms, terraces, fairs and zoos.
