The Travel Marketing Awards has added a new diversity, equity and inclusion category to its line-up this year as it seeks to recognise companies taking a stand on equality.
In association with TTG Media, the DEI Campaign Award recognises any travel marketing campaign or project which puts diversity, equity and inclusion at its heart.
Judges will be seeking a campaign or project that genuinely showcases a brand’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, with impressive results. They will also want to see the brand owner making an authentic commitment to the area as part of a strategic vision, rather than a short-term tactical initiative.
The TTMAs said judges would be mindful of over-stated claims, including pink-washing. The entry period for this category has been extended until 12 May. Anyone wanting to enter should email ttma@dellardavies.com.
Hosted by the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Travel Group, The Travel Marketing Awards celebrate excellence in travel marketing, as well as advertising, digital and PR.
There are several other additions for 2023, including new categories recognising travel trade engagement and the use of influencer marketing, as well as apps and audio.
B2B is also a bigger focus for several new campaign-led awards, and there are also awards celebrating travel brand of the year, agency of the year and in-house team of the year.
Entries will be judged by a panel of 30 senior travel industry and media professionals spanning tour operators, travel agents, airlines, cruise lines, agencies, TV and social media platform specialists. It includes seven new judges for 2023.
Sophie Griffiths, editor and chief purpose officer of TTG said: “Like most industries travel is very much on journey when it comes to DEI, but we know there are a lot of companies out there focused on championing inclusion. This is a chance for them to be recognised for their notable efforts and impressive campaigns.”
Those wishing to enter the DEI Campaign Award have until 12 May. Applicants should email ttma@dellardavies.com.
