Canadian carrier WestJet has launched a new Glasgow-Toronto service with flights operating four times a week.
Departures linking Scotland’s largest city to Canada’s most visited destination will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The route will operate using WestJet’s Boeing 737 fleet, offering improved fuel efficiency and 40% less noise than its predecessor aircraft.
Earlier this month WestJet resumed its Halifax route from Glasgow with three services operating per week.
John Weatherill, WestJet’s chief commercial officer, said: “The launch of the service between Toronto and Glasgow marks another milestone in recovery as we rebuild our network and strengthen transatlantic connectivity between our two countries.
“These connections are critical to the recovery of international travel and tourism, and we look forward to stimulating business and leisure travel between both destinations as we work towards restoring our network to pre-pandemic levels this summer.”
