EasyJet will return to Southend airport next summer despite closing its base there during the pandemic.
Flights from the Essex airport to Malaga and Palma will resume in May using aircraft based in Spain. They are among 16 new routes from eight airports, including a Newcastle-Palma flight.
The airline’s return to Southend will see four flights a week to Palma begin on 1 May and six a week to Malaga from 2 May. Flights from Newcastle to Palma will also return from 2 May, with departures five times a week.
One-way fares are from £22.99, with package holidays from £235pp.
Other new routes include those to the Greek Islands, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria and Morocco.
