Norse Atlantic Airways has launched its Gatwick-Washington DC route.
The six-times-weekly service, operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, took off on Thursday (1 June). DC becomes Norse’s fourth destination served from Gatwick, alongside New York, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.
Norse confirmed this week it would serve Miami rather than Fort Lauderdale from mid-September. Other routes due to launch this summer include Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston.
Flights to Washington DC’s Dulles airport depart Gatwick at 3pm arriving in DC at 6.20pm. Returns depart DC at 8.25pm arriving into Gatwick at 8.45am (+1).
Norse chief Bjorn Tore Larsen claimed its proposed summer schedule would make the new transatlantic carrier "Gatwick’s largest carrier to the US".
