Online agency Travelling Whale to specialise in sustainable trips

Travelling Whale has been co-founded by friends Hattie Seal, who previously worked for Tucan Travel, and Annabel Upson who initially met while on holiday in Spain in 2011.

The online agency is using the name Travelling Whale because of how great whales help to combat climate change by naturally capturing carbon when they feed.

The company specialises in bespoke “on demand” travel services and small group tours both around the UK and overseas – all trips will feature “an element of sustainability”.

“Our priority is to deliver sustainable and personal adventures to our clients,” said the two founders.

“We only use suppliers that have the same vision and values of sustainability as us, have a responsible travel policy in place and invest in their local communities in a variety of ways.”

Travelling Whale has also pledged to donate 1% of its annual profits to the UK-based wildlife charity Hebridean Whale & Dolphin Trust.
