Palladium to launch Med season ‘earlier than ever’

The Ibiza-based group will open its beachside hotels in Ibiza, Menorca and Sicily from 1 April – earlier than it did in 2019. It comes after Palladium’s chief sales and marketing officer Sergio Zertuche Valdes told TTG@WTM last year the group would be ready to react should there be sufficient early season demand from agents and operators.

Palladium said on Monday (21 March) it was confident of a strong tourism season for Spain’s Balearic Islands, in particular, adding the group planned to resume all tourist and leisure activities for the 2022 season.

“This year, we will open even earlier than we did in 2019 as people start to rediscover the allure of travel once again," said Sobrino, group chief executive. "The appeal of our islands has not diminished in any way, and we’re therefore confident of being able to open our hotels for a long period this year.”

Sobrino added Palladium was working to keep growing sectors "with greater added value". "We have repositioned some of the hotels we manage and have remained innovative so we can continue to surprise and exceed the expectations of our most demanding guests," he said.
