A rail link serving Machu Picchu was reinstated on Sunday (15 January) despite the Peruvian government announcing a further 30-day state of emergency as political protests continue.
The move comes after rail services in the south of the country were temporarily suspended last week "as a precautionary measure".
"It is possible that there could be disruption to travel in the Sacred Valley and any return to Cusco, so we advise visitors to check with travel providers in advance," the UK Foreign Office said.
Elsewhere, the Peruvian government announced a further 30 day state of emergency in Puno, Cusco, Lima, Callao, Andahuaylas, Tambopata, Tahuamanu and the Torata district in the Mariscal Nieto province.
"This allows the military forces to assist the local police and authorities in maintaining law and order," the FCDO added.
