Playa Hotels and Resorts has announced it is to bring management and operations of its Dreams La Romana resort in the Dominican Republic back in-house.
The resort is currently managed by AMResorts but owner Playa will assume control from November 1, promising a smooth and orderly transition.
Kevin Froemming, Playa executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, made the announcement in a letter to partners and stakeholders dated August 21.
He said Dreams La Romana would continue to offer holidaymakers a “wonderful, all-inclusive vacation experience consistent with Playa’s reputation and standards”.
AMResorts and its affiliated sales outlets will not accept new reservations for travel to the resort beyond November 20, with travels after this date to be handled by Playa.
Froemming said Playa’s top priority was to offer a complete and uninterrupted service during the transition.
“These are exciting times at Playa as it continues to grow its portfolio of world-class branded resorts,” he added.
The operator has pledged to honour all existing reservations and rates for Dreams La Romana through 2019.
