Thousands more Britons are likely to travel to Portugal after Tap Air Portugal reintroduced its stopover scheme.
The airline announced on Monday (13 March) the renewed partnership with tourism body Turismo de Portugal allows travellers to extend their stopover from five to 10 days.
Initially launched in 2016, Tap’s stopover scheme allows customers to break their long-haul trips and visit Lisbon or Porto at no additional flight costs.
Through its Lisbon hub, the airline connects Europe and the UK to Brazil and the Americas.
As part of the renewed programme, customers will benefit from 290 exclusive offers across a raft of restaurants, hotels and tour partners. This is in addition to a 25% discount off their total trip.
Tap made the headlines last week when it dismissed its top two executives, chief executive Christine Ourmieres-Widener and chair Manuel Beja, following a row over compensation payments.
TTG has approached Tap for further comment.
