P&O Cruises’ Britannia will resume operations later this month following a £1 million refurbishment, in which the ship gained new spa facilities and a “zero-gravity lounger”.
Britannia now boasts a five-star hotel, permanent art gallery and more spa treatments available following the works at Damen Shiprepair in Brest.
Passengers can try out high-tech massages, a zero-gravity lounger, and eyelash treatments in the new Oasis Spa and Salon pods, as well as experience the Arctic cold room and aroma steam room in the thermal and hydropool suite.
Live music, entertainment and informal performances will all take place in ship’s social hub, while patisserie chef Eric Lanlard will be serving sweet treats in The Market Cafe.
The menu includes ice cream made in collaboration with Hampshire’s Jude’s Ice Cream.
There will be more shopping opportunities onboard Britannia, including in Jo Malone, Tom Ford, Edinburgh Gin, Michael Kors, and Clifton shops, and in beauty consultation zones.
Java cafe will now serve alcoholic drinks, while a Dixons electronics hub will include tech from Amazon, Apple, Beats, Bose, Canon, Fitbit, GoPro, Microsoft and Sony.
Britannia, which was named five years ago, will be in Southampton on 23 October for a two-night cruise to Bruges before it crosses to the Caribbean.
