Regent Holidays has decided to keep Israel and Palestine in its portfolio despite the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas to "show support" for its on-the-ground partners in the region and the local population.
The specialist this week confirmed its new Regent Collection would continue to feature the two destinations in the Middle East, where fighting is continuing to intensify, albeit with there being no imminent prospect of any departures to either owing to Foreign Office advice.
Andrea Godfrey, head of Regent, explained: “No one knows how long this miserable conflict is going to go on, and we want to show our support for our partners and the wider population by continuing to showcase what these beautiful destinations have to offer when it is safe to travel there.”
Regent added in a statement: "Due to FCDO advice and ongoing conflict in Palestine, we aren’t currently quoting or booking any holidays to this country. The safety of our clients is a priority and our thoughts go out to everyone affected. Thank you for your understanding as we closely monitor the situation."
Regent is also adding new trips in 12 of its most popular destinations such as Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Romania, Estonia, Greenland, Jordan and the Azores.
The brochure also includes Regent’s range of small group tours for the first time, alongside existing product such as tailor-made trips, fly-drive, cruise, rail, short break and family holidays.
Godfrey said the 2024 collection was Regent’s “most comprehensive to date”, with further product also available online.
“Our team is always looking for new ways to experience a destination, introducing guests to countries and cultures in a fresh, authentic, respectful and exhilarating way,” she added.
“In addition to the main brochure, we will continue to produce our hugely popular mini-mailers honing in on specific areas of our portfolio, so agents can be confident they will be supported by a full suite of assets.”
