Riviera Travel is now paying agents commission on previously exempt booking elements such as upgrades and other ancillary add-ons.
Single supplements, upgrades, extra baggage, pre-booked seats and priority boarding bookings will all earn agents extra cash starting this eyar.
The switch is a direct result of feedback from the Riviera agent engagement committee, which will next meet in February.
The river cruise line and escorted touring specialist’s current peaks campaign sees agents earn a £30 voucher on every booking they make before 28 February.
For themed river cruise bookings, the voucher amount doubles. There will also be a weekly prize draw where all bookings until 28 February are entered to potentially win £1,000 preloaded Mastercard credit.
Vicky Billing, Riviera Travel head of sales, said: “Travel agents play a pivotal role in the success of Riviera bookings.
“They serve as our trusted advisors who can navigate the complexities of travel arrangements, their expertise in promoting Riviera’s unique product and incentives helps drive bookings and boosts revenue and as such it’s important we recognise their importance.
“I’m delighted our new incentives mean our agents can earn more, aligning perfectly with our commitment to being a team that genuinely cares about the people we work with.”
She added: “It’s important to us to ensure we continue to support and reward our valued travel agents."
