Cruise specialist agency ROL Cruise has raised more than £100,000 for the NHS in Essex and Suffolk.
Since March, the Colchester-based business has been fundraising to help patients, staff and health services – including donating money from every booking made.
Along with generous contributions from partners, suppliers and customers, the team’s total now stands at more than £106,000 – with the money being used to support a number of vital services amid the Covid-19 pandemic, including Colchester Hospital.
ROL managing director Sarah Wikevand said: “We are so proud to have been able to raise more than £100,000 for the NHS and care partnerships, and are delighted to hear the difference it will make across such a wide spectrum of services that are supporting people living with the impact of coronavirus."
Wikevand presented the donation cheque to senior representatives from across the NHS at ROL’s offices earlier this week.
“The NHS staff and volunteers are doing such amazing work in caring for Covid-19 patients and their families and we are very thankful that we have been able to show our support. I would also like to extend our thanks to our cruising customers whose support has enabled us to reach the fundraising target so quickly,” she added.
