The three-strong flight crew flew a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Brunei to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia – a destination where women are still not allowed to drive.
The airline achieved this milestone as Brunei celebrated its independence on the state’s National Day.
The Royal Brunei flight crew was led by captain Sharifah Czarena, alongside senior first officers Sariana Nordin and Dk Nadiah Pg Khashiem.
Women in Saudi Arabia were last year allowed to vote in elections for the first time.
“We are very proud of Captain Czarena, SFO Sariana and SFO Dk Nadiah,” said the airline on Twitter.
