Former Advantage and Global business development manager Sarah Ryan has joined Protected Trust Services, returning to travel after a 15-month stint away from the industry.
Ryan joins PTS as the firm’s newest BDM, with the group targeting significant growth this year as agents and operators assess their financial protection arrangements in light of the challenges posed over the past two years by the Covid crisis, and impending reform of the Atol scheme led by the CAA.
Besides Global and Advantage, Ryan brings experience working in both the bed bank and hospitality sectors, as well as property. She started her career in travel as an agent with First Choice.
After more than a year outside travel, Ryan said she was excited to use her existing knowledge and relationships to help PTS raise awareness of its trust accounting services and recruit new members.
PTS owner and managing director Daniel Landen said the firm would this year embark on further "extensive" growth plans as knowledge of, and familiarity with, trust accounting grows among travel’s agent and operator community.
He also said the firm would look to capitalise on "consistent demand" for its services, adding Ryan would play a key role in this.
"With Sarah originally starting her career as a travel agent and rounding her career in travel through business development, commercial negotiations and member support at various consortiums, we are confident Sarah will excel at PTS and assist us in enhancing our membership offering to the UK travel trade."
PTS sales director Mark Sutton added the firm was ready to welcome more members and support a wider range of UK travel businesses "eager to embrace the trust account model".
"We are building the PTS team to ensure we maintain high standards and customer care for our members and continue to support further UK travel businesses looking to move to the PTS trust model," said Sutton. "Our team will develop in correlation with PTS’s growth – [there are] exciting times are ahead for PTS and its members."
