Scenic Group has further strengthened its UK trade team with the appointment of Louise Tansey as it prepares to host two agent fam trips during Scenic Eclipse’s maiden Mediterranean season this summer.
Tansey has joined as sales manager for Scenic’s central territory, arriving from Vertical Travel Group having previously spent 13 years with Bourne Leisure.
Her appointment follows that of Andrea Stafford last month, who becomes Scenic’s new director of trade sales after five years at MSC Cruises. Stafford said working in the river sector and with smaller ships had always been an aspiration of hers.
“When this opportunity came along, it was a bit of a gift for me,” she told TTG. “The product is great, the business is very forward-thinking and it’s very exciting.” Stafford said Tansey was “really experienced and well-known within the trade” and would “bring a great dynamic to the team”.
Tansey added: “I’m really looking forward to hitting the ground running in my new role at such a dynamic business. We have so many exciting opportunities for agents in the pipeline, and I can’t wait to share these with agents in the central region and help them to fulfil their potential.”
Scenic has also recently recruited Jonathan Davies as sales manager for the north, while a promotion for Wendi Hardy sees her move into a newly created national key account manager position.
“The energy Wendi brings is absolutely brilliant. Her promotion is well deserved and she’ll be looking to enhance relationships with our largest accounts,” said Stafford. “The role is a bit of a blank piece of paper, and Wendi will be able to drill down into the details and provide those partners with exactly what they need.”
The line has also doubled the size of its agency sales support and trade marketing team with two new appointments.
The investment in its trade team follows the launch of superyacht Emerald Azzurra in March and new river ship Emerald Luna last month, as well as a full return to service of Scenic and Emerald’s river fleets since the onset of the pandemic.
“There’s so much happening across the brands. It’s a great time for us to be engaging with our partners,” said Stafford.
Scenic Eclipse is currently sailing its inaugural Mediterranean season. Around 40 agents will experience the discovery yacht across two fam trips in June from Lisbon to Fowey in Cornwall and Fowey to Amsterdam.
A competition to win a place onboard has been extended until 15 May, with agents automatically receiving one draw entry for every Eclipse booking they make.
