Seaside Travel is celebrating the successful opening of its fourth high street shop.
The Hartlepool branch, which began trading in November, has already seen a flow of customers and booked a £12,000 holiday to Florida.
It joins a network of shops, including one in Wingate, which opened in 2018; another in Easington, which opened in 2016; and a third in Sacriston, which launched the brand in 2001.
Staff members in Hartlepool have previously worked at Hays Travel and Going Places.
“I am really proud of Hartlepool, they are good people in a good community there,” said Nicola Park, Seaside’s owner. “I think it’s going to be a busy shop.”
Park said she had not been looking to expand, but took advantage of an opportunity when it presented itself.
She said: “I am a big believer in fate and if something comes along and it’s a good opportunity, if my heart is in it, then I will go for it.”
Most of the shop’s marketing will be via social media channels such as Facebook, Park said.
She added the new premises will be included in Seaside’s company-wide “Prosecco Friday” policy.
A bell is rung each Friday at 4pm, prompting all Seaside’s employees to enjoy a glass of fizz.
Park added: “I have brilliant girls, they work so hard for me. We are all best friends and I love them. I would do anything for them, and that’s the key to the whole business.”
Seaside is part of the Hays IG group.
