The shadow minister for women and equalities has been announced as the keynote speaker at the TTG Fairer Travel Diversity Forum.
Taking place during Fairer Travel Week, in association with the Spanish Tourist Office, on 8 July, the Fairer Travel Diversity Forum will features a series of panel discussions and workshops aiming to drive diversity, equity and inclusion in travel to the top of the agenda, offering practical examples on how travel companies can get it right.
The forum features a stellar line-up of speakers from both within and outside the travel industry, including shadow minister Taiwo Owatemi.
Owatemi was elected as an MP in 2019 and has held a series of positions including the private parliamentary secretary to the shadow Home Office, is vice chair of the Knife Crime All Party Parliamentary Group, sits on the International Trade Select Committee and the Health & Social Care Committee and is also currently the opposition whip.
The Diversity Forum is aimed at anyone leading teams or contributing to company culture in travel businesses.
Delegates will hear where travel companies currently stand on D&I, what steps they can take to get better and why it matters.
Speakers from both inside and outside of the industry will also discuss the opportunity to sell more travel to people from diverse backgrounds – but why travel companies need to get their own houses in order first.
Attendees can buy a single-day ticket for £49, or combine a ticket with the TTG Fairer Travel Sustainability Forum on Thursday 7 July for just £79.
