Shearings has dropped single room supplements at 27 of its UK hotels.
There will be no extra charge for solo guests staying in single-occupancy rooms, and the offer is valid on coach holidays and self-drive hotel breaks.
Double/twin rooms designed for two people to share will still incur a supplement for sole occupancy.
Hotels without single supplements belong to Shearings’ Coast & Country collection and feature properties such as the Royal Hotel in Whitby, the Imperial in Tenby and the Lake District’s Windermere Hotel.
Ashley Dellow, Shearings’ head of retail sales, said: “We absolutely understand why hotels charge a single supplement but it’s really good news that we can now offer a great selection of UK holidays with no single room supplement.
“The number of customers choosing to travel solo is increasing year-on-year, and we’re pleased to be able to encourage this. Customers shouldn’t be put off going on holiday because they have no one to share a room with, or they prefer privacy. There is limited availability on single-occupancy rooms at each hotel, and agents should urge their customers to book early to secure their preferred dates with no supplement.”
