Villa specialist Solmar has seen an “unprecedented rise” in enquiries from agents after taking over 300 properties that were previously on the books of James Villas.
Solmar is continuing to add more James Villas’ properties to its portfolio after the brand was closed by owner Awaze in late October.
Enquiries from the trade shot up by 65% for Solmar this week as agents “desperately rallied try to secure bookings for their customers”.
Sharon Bradbury, marketing director at Solmar Villas, said: “We pride ourselves on delivering excellent service to our trade partners and have been able to help a considerable number of UK agents by securing the same villa and dates which they originally booked through James Villas for their clients.
“We have been able to help agents quickly and remove the stress and worry for them and their customers.
“We are continuing to add James Villas stock to our portfolio every day and we would encourage any agents that we have not yet dealt with to get in touch, even if we have not worked with them before.”
The company said it was also “doing all it can” to support James Villas’ 40 staff who are facing an uncertain future following the brand’s closure.
Solmar now has more than 2,000 villas across Europe and has also added properties in Florida recently. This includes 800 villas that have been introduced within the past six months and further growth is expected in 2024.
