The Spanish Tourist Board has launched a new online hub to showcase the country’s sustainable tourism initiatives.
The platform contains information such as the Balearic Islands’ Sustainability Tourism Tax and Murcia’s new eco-tourism routes.
Manuel Butler, director of the Spanish Tourist Office UK, said the launch comes as part of a "wider strategic focus" from Spain to become a "more competitive and sustainable" tourism destination, with a focus on seasonal and geographical diversification as well as economic, social and environmental sustainability.
"We want this platform to also showcase some of the excellent tangible examples of sustainability in action within Spain’s tourism industry," he added.
The hub will inform media, partners, trade and consumers about Spain’s sustainability initiatives under one banner. It contains links to relevant press pieces in the trade and national press as well as organic content, news, and videos.
