All eyes will be on the Middle East in November as the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 kicks off, and supporters are promised a warm welcome in neighbouring Oman.
Football fans can combine their love of the beautiful game with a holiday filled with spectacular scenery, enchanting culture and epic adventures, when they visit Oman this winter.
As an official supporting host country for the Fifa World Cup, Oman is the ideal destination to soak up the tournament. Oman Air offers matchday shuttle flights, enabling customers to relax and explore in Oman, with easy access to the games.
There are a wealth of experiences to enjoy outside of the games across Oman. Cultural highlights include the Royal Opera House and the National Museum, and shopping opportunities abound in the vibrant souks. Visitors can explore ancient forts, learn about Oman’s pearl diving heritage, and admire the geological wonders of the region by hiking through wadis or cycling across mountains.
Oman Air is the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, and offers a daily non-stop flight from Heathrow’s Terminal 4 to Muscat International airport, which opened in 2018. The service takes just over seven hours and the major international carrier offers eight first class private suites on each of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Customers can expect extra tall soft closing sliding doors to ensure privacy and an on-demand a la carte meal service.
The 24 business class seats all provide direct aisle access, thanks to the 2-2-2 configuration, and feature a fully lie-flat bed and a la carte cuisine. In economy, seats are in a 3-3-3 configuration, offering personal seat back TV screens.
All passengers receive Oman Air personal amenity kits, with those in first and business class created with luxury Omani fragrance house Amouage.
The airline will join oneworld in 2024, providing customers with the full range of alliance benefits.
Between 21 November and 3 December, Oman Air will operate 48 match-day shuttle flights from Muscat to Doha. The short, comfortable hop takes approximately 60 minutes each way, on the airline’s regular wide-body aircraft.
Passengers will enjoy Omani hospitality, products and services, with economy prices starting from 49OMR (£105).
Travellers are advised to arrive in Doha at least four hours before the match and will need to register for the Hayya card, which allows travel on match day shuttles and easy entry into Qatar and the game.
