St Kitts has appointed a new UK trade lead with a view to driving more sales through agents.
Suzy Trott from sales and marketing representation agency Silva will head up the St Kitts Tourism Authority account.
Trott will lead agent training sessions, represent St Kitts at roadshows and accompany agents on fam trips to the island.
The new partnership takes effect this month as part of St Kitts’ strategy to bolster the island’s visibility among agents and grow arrival numbers from the UK.
Monthly arrivals to the island grew by nearly 40% on average last year compared with 2022.
Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, chief executive of the St Kitts Tourism Authority, said Trott’s appointment would seek to build on the progress the destination has made since the pandemic.
“Travel agents are crucial to the success of St Kitts as a tourism destination and to have a Caribbean specialist of Suzy’s calibre to deliver destination training, roadshows and fams to the market’s key travel agent partners is really going to enhance our efforts in this market.
“We ended 2023 with monthly arrivals from the UK up by an average of 38 per cent, versus 2022, and we’re excited to build on that in 2024.”
St Kitts is served by twice-weekly year-round British Airways flights from Gatwick.
