Stansted airport has lifted the lid on its proposed £130 million arrivals terminal transformation.
The airport on Tuesday (August 28) issued striking CGI footage of how the new-look space will shape up.
Designers Pascall+Watson, who won the control in March 2018, have produced new video and stills exploring their vision for the airport.
They include artist impressions and aerial views of the terminal entrance, its place-style forecourt and new immigration and baggage reclaim areas.
Stansted says the new terminal will open in 2020.
“The srrivals terminal is the centrepiece project of our £600 million transformation programme and these latest images really whet the appetite of what the new and improved Stansted airport will look like when the facility opens in 2020.
“Our five-year multi-million-pound project will transform the experience for millions of passengers and help unlock the airport’s spare runway capacity, providing passengers with a wider choice of airlines and destinations.”
Phase one of the transformation project has so far delivered a new check in zone, new 350-seat restaurant and new short stay car parks.
