Star Clippers will accept unvaccinated passengers and remove the requirement for vaccinated guests to take a pre-embarkation antigen test from November.
The changes will come into effect for Royal Clipper on its Barbados to Panama sailing on 5 November, Star Clipper’s Barbados to Panama itinerary on 19 November and Star Flyer’s St Maarten round-trip on 26 November.
Guests travelling without a Covid vaccination will be required to provide a negative antigen test performed within the 48 hours prior to embarkation, or a PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to embarkation in a controlled setting.
Home/self-tests will not be accepted and Star Clippers has advised it is the passenger’s responsibility to facilitate the test. Guests travelling with a full series of vaccinations must still present their proof of vaccine prior to embarkation.
Fay McCormack, general manager, said: "Star Clippers will continue to adhere to strict health and hygiene policies onboard, closely following Public Health Guidelines, as we have always done so. This news is a dramatic step forward in our recovery following the pandemic."
