Start-up long-haul carrier Flypop has formed a joint venture with Portuguese airline Hi Fly, which could see the pair launch UK passenger flights.
The two companies came together during the pandemic, with Hi Fly utilising Flypop’s aircraft for cargo operations. The new partnership will see the two expand their collaboration to explore passenger flights out of the UK.
Navdip Singh Judge, founder and chief executive of Flypop, predicted a "surge in demand" from the airline’s home market in the coming months.
"We are in active discussions with several parties to grow the fleet further in the near future and look forward to welcoming these aircraft to the joint venture," he added.
Over the next few weeks, Flypop will be adding additional aircraft to the joint venture that will be operated by Hi Fly.
