Thomas Cook appoints new hotels boss

The appointment of Andre Witschi follows the decision of Karl Schattmaier, the current general manager of hotels and resorts, to retire.

Schattmaier will hand over to Witschi in mid-July, but will continue to support Thomas Cook as a member of the supervisory board.

Fankhauser said: “André Witschi is one of the most experienced international hotel managers in the industry and will play a key part in setting the direction of our important hotels and resorts function, ahead of a permanent appointment to the role.

"I would like to thank Karl Schattmaier for the huge contribution he has made in his time at Thomas Cook and I’m very happy that he will continue his role in the supervisory board of Thomas Cook GmbH.”
