JetBlue is cutting its winter flights between Gatwick and Boston and New York as it seeks to turn a profit.
The US low cost carrier’s earnings have been impacted by higher operational costs and uneven demand, causing it to rationalise or cancel routes around the world.
Gatwick is one of the airports to feel the impact, with its year-round flights to Boston and New York’s JFK airport now set to operate during the summer season only, nominally lasting from the last Sunday of March to the last Saturday night in October.
The airline will continue to operate a year-round service to both US cities from Heathrow.
