Travel Counsellors has launched a new initiative designed to reassure and support customers looking to travel post-pandemic.
The "Assured" campaign will identify resorts and properties where customers could still experience an enjoyable holiday if they were to test positive for Covid-19 while they were abroad.
Travel Counsellors has highlighted a number of policies implemented by certified partners that enable guests to continue to enjoy their trip until they fully recover, such as allowing them to isolate in their rooms with family and friends.
Also included is allowing visitors to continue to receive the resort’s full dining programme via room service, specially provided in-room entertainment and a cost-free extended stay at the hotel until their isolation period is up.
Hotels that meet the criteria will be certified by the homeworking firm as "Assured Partners".
A recent customer survey by Travel Counsellors showed just over half (56%) of its customers said booking with someone they can trust is the most important factor when planning their holidays in 2022.
Kirsten Hughes, managing director of Travel Counsellors, said the firm has seen an increase in people seeking the "trusted advice and personal service" from a travel agent.
"In this, customers want the guidance and reassurance when it comes to navigating travel, including all-important questions around catching Covid-19 whilst on holiday with the varying guidance and restrictions in place," she added.
"We have been working closely with our supplier partners to launch our ‘Assured’ campaign, highlighting the properties and resorts that have focused on ensuring customers can still enjoy their holiday should this happen."
Destinations featured in the "Assured" programme include the Maldives, Mexico, Saint Lucia, the Canary Islands, Grenada and Dominican Republic.
