Travel Talks Menopause has announced its latest event, featuring British Menopause Society Registered specialist Teresa Davison, who will offer advice on coping with the menopause.
Women across the industry and male allies are being urged to sign up for the event, which will take place on 10 March.
Davison, who is a nurse practitioner, runs the Somerset Menopause Clinic. She will offer top tips and key information for those in the travel industry who are also suffering perimenopausal symptoms.
The hour-long event, which will take place via Zoom at 10am, is sponsored by Holiday Extras, and will be moderated by national retail manager Lindsay Garvey-Jones, who co-founded Travel Talks Menopause alongside Silversea’s Julie Nunes.
“Menopause can be one of the most daunting times in a woman’s life, and the question of whether to take hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can often be stressful and worrying,” Nunes said.
“Travel Talks Menopause is delighted to have Teresa join us to answer some of those burning questions we have around HRT as well as exploring alternative therapies available. This is a session not to be missed.”
Garvey-Jones added: "The topic of HRT can be confusing and full of mystery for many. Travel Talks Menopause is delighted to be hosting this session with Theresa to debunk some of the myths around HRT, demystify some of the language which is used and understand more clearly what options are currently available.
"There will also be an opportunity to discover alternative therapies to HRT that might suit women better."
Daniel Pearce, CEO of TTG Media, which is media partner for Travel Talks Menopause, once again urged male allies to sign up to the event to learn and better support their female counterparts. “This is something that will affect half the population, and we all need to do a better job in understanding how it will affect the women in our lives – from our colleagues and employees to our partners and children,” he said.
