The Port of Dover has warned passengers to expect delays of up to two-and-a-half-hours this weekend.
Quoting port officials, the BBC reported enhanced post-Brexit passport checks by French border control officers have "significantly" increased processing times.
The port said it will share hour-by-hour projections for every day of the summer getaway with operational partners for them to plan their resources and processes.
It will also continue to use a new system for processing coach passengers, involving advanced passenger information checks being carried out away from the main port area during busy hours.
The installation of an additional booth for French officers is expected to be completed before Friday (21 July).
Earlier this year, travellers faced delays of up to 17 hours at the border due to slow processing and an unexpected number of coaches causing "traffic chaos".
